Jonathan Bunt, Co-founder and Director of Beehive Affordable Homes, has been appointed to the board of Golden Lane Housing, as well as being appointed the Chair of their Treasury Committee.
Jonathan brings extensive experience of finance and housing in local government, having been CFO and strategic director at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, and assistant director of resources at the London Borough of Barnet.
He is currently a board member at Barnsbury Housing Association, which is a 300-home registered provider based in Islington, North London.
Golden Lane Housing specialises in providing supported housing to people with learning disabilities, helping them to live their lives as they choose. Since its establishment by Mencap in 1998, the registered community benefit society – which owns and manages 1,200 properties across England, Wales and Northern Ireland – has invested £123m to transform the lives of over 2,370 people, helping to tackle the challenges that people with a learning disability face in finding a home.
Jonathan’s appointment will bring a wealth of skills and knowledge from his extensive experience in housing and local government to Golden Lane Housing’s Board. His continued work to support councils on the development and delivery of affordable housing and regeneration schemes will bring insight to help the organisation develop further and support more people.
In 2021, he co-founded Beehive Affordable Homes – a housing company that bridges the gap between housing associations with homes to sell and local authorities with homelessness pressures.
